Apartment Review for Uptown Rental Properties - Cincinnati, OH

I have been renting from Uptown for three years now. The first year was great. We didn't have any problems and the staff always seemed nice. The second year got significantly worse. The washer and dryer constantly ate our quarters and they were always being replaced. The ceiling leaked big time because the upstairs tenants left the water one, the roof leaked and caused mold and other unsightly spots on our walls. They refused to come paint or help the leak. They said it would just have to dry. I am allergic to mold and had to continually call and complain but it took them three weeks to fix. They finally came out and painted over it. Also, the parking here is insane. Since it's across the street from campus there are never spots. We had to buy a pass for UC's garage to even have a spot. Also the tenants in the building are loud and uptown never does anything about this. The building also does not have a page system to get into the building or to pick up packages. Also the tenants constantly leave the door ajar and it makes me feel unsafe. The second year, there were also tenants out on the fire escapes constantly making noise. Now that the third year is on its way, we are paying ridiculous prices for this apartment, the tenants are still loud, neighbors are loud, the door is still left ajar, and the washer and dryer is still an issue. So are the cockroaches in the basement. Now added on to this, someone shot a bullet hole through our bedroom window, and then two weeks ago someone through a beer bottle through out kitchen window and there were glass shards everywhere. We had to file a police report. They said the window would be fixed ASAP but its been two weeks and nothing. Also this winter we had terrible leaking of the roof and more mold and I was having an allergic reaction. I've tried to get them to let us out of our lease but nothing. The issues are just piling up and they continue to be rude and careless. Nothing ever gets done around here. I am fed up with this company and will never rent from them again. They are only in this to nickel and dime you. Rent somewhere else!!
