Apartment Review for Uptown Rental Properties - Cincinnati, OH

I, currently rent a one bedroom apartment near the UC campus from this company. The biggest issue I have with this unit are the elevated level of noise and vibrations emitted by the prehistoric heating system. It is the equivalent of a constant, unceasing, all-pervading drone of an old helicopter! When I approached Uptown Rental Properties (URP) and made them aware of this issue, they were indeed 'responsive' (after about 3 weeks of me calling them) and sent a HVAC specialist contractor to survey the situation. He and the low-level building manager acknowledged that this was indeed an issue with the heating system. Upon realizing that the solution to this problem is expensive and will hurt their bottom-line, URP ceased responding to my calls and emails. I had to arrange a face-to-face meeting with the manager and VP of the firm, who then proceeded to inform me that, legally and contractually, the heating system (boiler) is functioning normally and that there is nothing they are willing to do about the noise and vibrations. They were not even willing to discuss a change in the lease so that it would facilitate me in moving apartments. This firm, clearly, has no intention of extending goodwill to its customers and places higher priority on thier bottom-line. Would not do business with them again!
