Apartment Review
I Strongly Recommend Not Moving Here!!!!
Review Date: 3/20/2010 Reviewer: Anonymous
Problems at 205 Cardinal Drive within the first 2 ½ months or first 70 days of occupancy: Made it very clear to the resident manager before we signed a lease that I had to have something that was very quiet 100% of the time. Was told the area was very quiet and would not have any problems sleeping during the day. Kids are always playing outside in the common area in the back of complex and it is very loud all day long. If you expect quiet, don’t live here! Very loud in evenings. Cardinal drive sounds like an expressway with cars zipping up and down the road all day. Can hear neighbors on each side of us. Climbing of steps during the day; loud tv’s at night, etc. Why wasn’t this communicated to us prior to moving in when landlord knew I had to have something quiet. Incorrect information was given to us when we first viewed the town home. Example: Apartment is very quiet; unit runs on all all electric; was surprised when we moved in that we had to pay for gas and water service on top of the $680.00 rent. NOT WORTH IT! Had we known this prior, the move would not have happened! Feel like we are being ripped off! Whenever it rains, we have a swamp or standing water in the front lawn that lasts for several days. Breeding grounds for mosquitos! Reported the issue, was told the problem was being taken care of. Grass seed was thrown down. Swamp remains! Refrigerator had to be replaced-old unit was leaking water onto the floor and had to be mopped up. Took 5 weeks to replace. Problems with the heat. The furnace would not heat the apartment efficiently. Problem is still not resolved as of the last cold spell. Problems with the water bill. First month, was over charged and everyone involved wanted to simply “pass the buck” onto somebody else and not resolve it. Water heater sounds like it is about to blow up after taking a hot shower. Maintenance man states all new water heaters make that noise. Checked with a friend who just bought a new water heater and theirs doesn’t make that noise. Recently had a problem with water leaking into coat closet. Problem still not resolved. Bad odor from chemicals still remain. Maintenance man says it was mildew forming on walls. A friend of mine who does home inspections came over Saturday, inspected, and suggested a mold test to be done. Maintenance man also said the reason for all the water in coat closet was due to condensation when in fact a line had to be installed earlier in the day because there was no line from the air conditioner to the floor drain. Chemicals caused headaches and was forced to evacuate our home for 2 days due to the bad smell and the neglect. Pipes rattle when flushing toilet. Water pipes leaked in laundry room when doing laundry. Problem “supposedly” has been fixed. With all the problems encountered above, we contacted Senior District property manager supervisor for a meeting. She was very rude and nasty and didn’t take any of our concerns into matter whatsoever. She took sides with the Rental property manager and she told us we would have to live with these issues for now. |
