Apartment Review
TERRIBLE!
Review Date: 7/13/2008 Reviewer: Anonymous
There are 5 parking spaces backing the building and they are unassigned and on gravel. There are 20 units in my building and you either have to get lucky and find a spot on the street or pay $30+ extra dollars a month to shaer a garage. Managment busts into your apartment unannouced and completely out of the blue. On the rare occurance they leave 24 hours notice that they need to enter your apartment they sometimes don't show up until 3 days later and unlock your doors to walk right in without informing you they are coming. The quality of people they are renting to has really gone downhill. These renters are too young, too loud, too dirty and always have friends over well into the night drinking and making noise. There are 3 washers and 3 driers in the basement, keep in mind THERE ARE 20 UNITS IN THIS BUILDING! The machines are ALWAYS in use and you have to leave your dirty clothes by the washer while someone else is using them in order to save your spot in line. The hallways smell exactly like a bar and people smoke cigarettes in the hallways and put them out on the walls or the carpet. The hallways have not been painted in well over 10 years and there are tears in the yellow [once white] wallpaper, scratches and carvings in the woodwork and waterbugs or sewer roaches all over the basement floors. The noise is HORRIBLE. The "new" carpet didn't have padding so every tiptoe sounds like an elepahant running around. Kids run in the hallways screaming at the top of their lungs at midnight. The people in the apartment building next door drink and have parties every single night all night long [I kid you not] and they get very loud, so loud closing your doors and windows do not block the noise at all. The garages are right below the apartments and they are VERY loud when people open and close them at all hours of the night. If you are lucky enough to get a parking space in back of the building someone will always block you in and when you honk and go door to door no one claims the car to move it. I have missed many days of work because I was blocked in. The units are outdated and are too hot in the summer and cold in the winter. There is zero sunlight because the building is sideways. Every plant I put outside dies in a week. There is also no air circulation because the building is sideways, therefore in the summer you absolutely have to run your central air and it cost me $176 every month I run it...and that isn't everyday use. I have complained to the manager about 2 different issues and never received a call back the 3 times I called. The problems still go unresolved. If you are on the second floor you cannot make a peep, if you live on the first floor get ready for all night constant stomping. The neighbors are very noisey and get into your business every chance they get. You can literally hear people talking inside their apartments while you are in the hallways. Example, you can hear someone talking at a normal tone perfectly, undertanding every word they are saying. You can also hear people using their bathrooms from the hallway and that makes for an awkward situation. The fireplaces look worn out and you aren't even allowed to use them. Since heat is paid they send notes around all the time telling you not to put it over 70' and you should walk around your apartment in sweats to keep warm. They turned down the amount of heat the heater pumps into the units which inturn makes for a cold apartment. They advertise on every single apartment rental guide and on Craigslist [which bring in less than desireable neighbors] When walking around the property one of the young punk neighbors will run you over because they drive so fast through the parking lot blarring their rap music. You can smell pot when you are sitting in your livingroom. There is so much more I can tell people reading this review but I hope this is reason enough for people not to rent from Sundance Managment. |
